The chassis was ordered in 1973 and was delivered in 1974. It was a 1974 GMC with a 432 V6, 5 speed transmission and a 2 speed rear axle. It was purchased for $7,200. The original price was $6,500 but the difference was to have the cab painted Lime Green at the factory.

The chassis was sent to the Binghamton Body Company where the body and a 1250 gallon tank were mounted at a cost of $5,000. Members put a used front mount pump on the truck. The original pump was taken off a truck the Company had, possibly a 1950's era truck. The pump was originally purchased as Military Surplus for the 1950's truck and was a 1940's model. The pump lasted one year before it met a major mechanical malfunction. The members borrowed $4,500 and purchased a new American 750 gallon front mount pump. The new pump was also mounted by Company members.

Over the years the truck had minor improvements and upgrades. It was taken out of service in 2001 and given to a Company member.Tanker 414

The original Station was built on the site of the current Station. It was built sometime in the early 50's and was taken down in 1987 so the current Station could be erected. Though it had a very nice meeting area upstairs, the bays were very limited. The truck house consisted of 2 bays, with one bay being 2 trucks deep. Being the door openings were very small and would not accommodate modern trucks, the decision was made to build a new Station.Original Station
