At 11:21hrs Station 34 was dispatched for wires down in the are of Haven Road on Route 209 that has caused a small brush fire. 34-1, 34-2 and 34-3 arrived on scene to find a major high voltage line was down due to a falling tree limb with a small brush fire along the roadside. Along with New York State Troopers, firefighters stopped traffic until Orange and Rockland Utilities arrived. Due to the voltage of the line, no fire suppression was started and the Orange and Rockland supervisor released Station 34 apparatus after 35 minutes. Approximately and hour later, Station 34 was called back for fire suppression after the the line was unenergized.
34-1, 34-2, 34-3, 34-11, 34-31 and 34-51 responded. All units were back in service at 14:15hrs.
